Carol Cooney
4th Grade Teacher
Carol Cooney still approaches the world the way her best teachers once showed her: with curiosity, resilience, and a genuine love of learning. That inspiration, rooted in teachers who nurtured her love of reading and sparked her curiosity from a young age, is what led her to a career in education. She holds a B.Ed. and M.Ed. in Elementary Education and Gifted Education, is a 2023 Spark Award recipient, and comes to KTEC Schools of Innovation from Lakeview Elementary School in Kenosha, where she taught 4th grade.
In her classroom, Carol strives to model the same curiosity and growth mindset that shaped her as a learner. Her goal is to help every student feel confident and empowered in their problem-solving, believing that when kids feel supported and inspired, they are more likely to take risks and reach their full potential.
Outside of school, Carol enjoys spending time with her children, Ryan and Emily, and her dog, Nala. She loves being out on the lake on her boat, fishing, and spending time in nature, and she brings that same sense of curiosity and wonder into her classroom every day.
