KTEC Schools of Innovation Announces Grand Opening of New Kenosha Campus

Published On: April 15th, 2026

Kenosha is about to witness a major step forward in education, workforce development, and community partnership.

KTEC Schools of Innovation will celebrate the opening of its new campus this summer, marking a transformative milestone in its mission to deliver hands-on, STEM-focused learning experiences for students across the region. Community members, local businesses, and organizations are invited to join in the celebration and be part of this exciting new chapter.

An Investment in the Future

KTEC’s new campus represents an investment in education and community growth. The school has purchased and is renovating the former Pick ’n Save building, transforming a vacant property into a vibrant center for learning and opportunity.

By fall 2026, KTEC will relocate its 4K–12 program from its current location on 39th Avenue into this new, expanded facility. Construction is being led by trusted local partners, with J.H. Findorff & Sons, Inc. serving as general contractor and Kenosha-based Partners in Design overseeing architectural planning.

A Permanent Home Designed for Innovation

The new 56,000-square-foot campus will replace KTEC’s current leased space and provide a purpose-built environment tailored to modern education.

Key features of the new facility include:

  • Advanced career and technical education labs for welding, manufacturing, construction, and transportation
  • Technology-enhanced classrooms designed for collaboration and creativity
  • A full-size gymnasium and outdoor recreation area
  • Dedicated spaces for project-based learning and innovation

This thoughtfully designed campus will support KTEC’s unique model, where students engage in real-world problem solving and gain practical skills that prepare them for college and high-demand careers.

Powered by Partnerships

KTEC’s success is rooted in strong collaboration with industry and education partners. As a charter school through the University of Wisconsin, KTEC continues to work closely with leading organizations such as Gateway Technical College, Snap-on, Festo, and Lincoln Electric.

These partnerships ensure students gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies and career pathways in science, engineering, and advanced manufacturing.

“This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for all of our students,” said Angela Andersson, CEO and Executive Director of KTEC. “This new campus is being made possible because of the incredible partnerships we’ve built with industry and education. Together, we’re ensuring that our students have access to the tools, training, and inspiration they need to become the innovators of the future.”

Get Involved

KTEC is actively seeking community partners, sponsors, and organizations interested in supporting its students and programs. These partnerships play a critical role in shaping curriculum, enhancing learning opportunities, and preparing students for high-skilled technical careers.
