Why did you become a teacher?

I started my career in the corporate world, and I wanted more. I wanted to do something with real purpose, which led me to go back to school for education. It was only a matter of time, since my father was a teacher, my wife is a teacher, cousins – it’s in my blood. Also, my daughter is currently going to school to become a teacher. I guess it’s in her blood, too.

What’s one thing you’d love for KTEC families to know about you?

I am thrilled to be here at KTEC. I love it here! This is a place where students can truly benefit from real-world skills that they will use in the workforce.

I have a daughter that is currently attending UW-Madison for elementary education. She will be 20 years old this September. My wife and I have been married for 25 years. We also have three other children in our family – our cats, Purcy, Rory, and Welly. I love them dearly and have been accused of loving them more than my wife and daughter. This isn’t true, of course, I love everyone equally.

If you were to step into my classroom, you will notice many Star Wars decorations because I am a huge fan. I am also a lover of music. Growing up in the 80’s, Van Halen is almost always on my playlist. Please stop by room 203 and say hello!
