Shannon Domenk

STEM

Shannon Domenk does not sugarcoat what teaching requires. In her words, it takes time, patience, grit, and a willingness to be genuinely open to whatever each day brings. She speaks from experience: Shannon spent nearly a decade as a STEM educator at KTEC Schools of Innovation and is now returning to the school and the work she loves. She holds an M.A.T. in Elementary and Middle School Education with graduate coursework at Carthage College and National-Louis University, as well as a B.A. in Communication and a Certificate in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

As a STEM educator, Shannon believes hands-on learning and critical thinking are how students best discover what they are capable of. Her goal is a classroom that is welcoming, safe, and structured, one where students are excited to learn and know they are cared for. She believes deeply in the cooperative partnership between parents, teachers, and students, and lives by a simple rule: if she does not understand something, she asks; if something works, she shares it.
