Your Future Starts Here

Most high schools offer classes. KTEC offers a direction. Our six state-recognized Career and Technical Education pathways connect real classroom learning to real careers — with college credit, industry certifications, and paid work experience built in.

More Than a Class Schedule

At KTEC, each pathway is a sequence of courses, certifications, and real-world experiences built around in-demand industries right here in Kenosha County — designed to carry students forward whether they’re headed into the workforce, a technical program, or a four-year college.

Most families don’t realize what that means in practice: a KTEC student can graduate with a diploma, college credit through Gateway Technical College, multiple industry-recognized certifications, and paid work experience from a real employer — all before they ever set foot on a college campus or submit a job application.

What Students Gain

Every KTEC pathway — regardless of field — delivers the same four things before graduation.

College Credit

Through our partnership with Gateway Technical College, students earn real, transferable college credit at no additional cost. Some pathway tracks include credits toward a full technical diploma.

Certificaciones del sector

KTEC students graduate with a portfolio of credentials — from OSHA and Snap-on certifications available to every student, to pathway-specific credentials in welding, diesel, healthcare, food safety, and more.

Hands-On Labs

KTEC’s new building includes four dedicated CTE labs where students work with professional-grade equipment in the same conditions they’ll encounter in the field.

Paid Work Experience

Through Wisconsin’s Youth Apprenticeship program, students in every pathway can earn paid, on-the-job experience with a real employer — while still in high school.
