Julia Coleman has wanted to be a teacher since kindergarten. When she was not in school herself, her mom tells stories of her gathering her cousins together so she could teach them. That drive has never wavered. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Julia returns to KTEC Schools of Innovation, where she previously served as a Physical and Health Education teacher at the high school level.

She became a PE and Health teacher because she believes teaching students to care for their bodies and minds is one of the most important things an educator can do. Having seen firsthand how healthy habits, whether staying active, eating well, managing stress, or making safe choices, can shape a person’s life, her goal is to help students find activities they genuinely enjoy and to build the mental wellness habits that stay with them long after graduation.

Outside of school, Julia is rarely sitting still. She plays in volleyball and pickleball leagues, paddle boards and water skis on the lake, and spends as much time outdoors as possible around Kenosha. She loves attending live sporting events and being part of the community she works in. Above all, she is deeply committed to making sure every student feels seen, heard, and supported, and that enthusiasm for life and learning shows up in her classroom every day.
