Robert Thompson

High School English

Robert Thompson did not start his career as a teacher. After spending time in the corporate world, he found himself wanting something with more purpose and went back to school to find it. In a way, it was inevitable: his father was a teacher, his wife is a teacher, and his daughter is currently studying elementary education at UW-Madison. He holds a B.A. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and dual master’s degrees in Reading and Teaching from Concordia University-Mequon, and comes to KTEC Schools of Innovation from Burlington Area School District, where he taught High School English.

Outside of the classroom, Robert shares his home with his wife and their three cats, Purcy, Rory, and Welly, who he jokes may have claimed the top spot in the household. He is a dedicated Star Wars fan whose classroom decor makes that very clear, and a lover of 80s music with Van Halen as a near-constant on his playlist.
