Personal:

I live just south of the Wisconsin border in Winthrop Harbor, IL with my husband. My husband is a British sports car mechanic in Lake Bluff, IL and race car driver. We have two rescue pit bull mix dogs Emmy and Lucy as well as two rescue cats Sunny and Angel. In my free time, I lean into my favorite “grandma” hobbies. I like to sew, garden, crochet, cook, and enjoy my couch time with my pets. I have bowled competitively since high school and I went to college on a bowling scholarship. While I was teaching in Milwaukee I coached high school bowling teams.

Professional:

I entered my education career in 2016 when I joined the non-profit Teach for America. I did my student teaching program with TFA in Houston, TX where I taught 2nd grade writing in summer school. From there I was placed in Milwaukee Public Schools where I remained for 7 years. I taught at Pulaski High School, Trowbridge Elementary School, and Grandview High School. MY husband and I moved to Illinois to be closer to his job and family. I took the job as the inclusion specialist at KTEC High School. This year I will be moving into the role as C3 instructor.

I am excited to step into the role of C3 Instructor, where I have the opportunity to guide students in developing their personal character, learning how to thrive in a collective community, and taking intentional steps toward their future career goals. This role allows me to support students in discovering who they are, what they value, and how they can grow into empowered, purpose-driven young adults. As an educator, I believe all students can learn when they are met with high expectations, compassion, and the right supports. My teaching philosophy centers on creating inclusive, relationship-driven environments where every student feels seen, respected, and encouraged to take ownership of their growth.
