Brittany Stalker

Art

Brittany Stalker does not just teach art. She makes it. An active artist whose work includes a mural on The Sharing Center in Trevor, Wis., and more than seven murals painted around her previous school through a mural club she founded, Brittany brings both the perspective of an educator and the hands of a working artist to her classroom at KTEC Schools of Innovation. She holds a Master’s in Art Education from Eastern Illinois University and a Bachelor’s in Art Education from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, and spent more than a decade teaching art at Salem Grade School before joining KTEC. Her work has been recognized twice in the Racine Art Museum’s International PEEPS Exhibition, in 2012 and 2016, and her students’ work earned recognition at the Kenosha County Fair each year from 2013 to 2025. She is an active professional member of the National and Wisconsin Art Education Associations and previously taught summer art camps at the Anderson Arts Center/Kemper Center.

Brittany believes art is for everyone and that every student is an artist in their own way. Her classroom is a vibrant, welcoming space where experimentation is encouraged and artistic voice is celebrated. She teaches to nurture self-expression, curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong appreciation for the visual arts, and her favorite moments are when students have those lightbulb moments, truly admiring something unique they created.

Outside of school, Brittany’s favorite medium is reduction printmaking on linoleum, with acrylic and watercolor close behind, and she has a particular love for large-scale, collaborative, public artwork. When she is not creating, her family keeps her busiest. She and her children, Olive and Leo, love biking, camping, gardening, going to concerts, and going on adventures together.
